Demonstrating teachers sleeping on streets (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The relief and pension-deprived teachers have protested by sleeping on the streets in Maitighar.

The demonstrating teachers are sleeping on the road against the education school bill registered in the parliament. According to the teachers, they symbolically represented the corpse as the state had turned it into a lifeless body.

The demonstrators said, 'We are sleeping on streets to symbolically represent our death.'

After three days of continuous demonstration, the Nepal Teachers' Association and the government came to a six-point agreement on 22^nd September (Asoj 5, Friday). However, the relief teachers claimed that their demands were not addressed in the agreement. Then, they decided to continue their protest.

The relief teachers have been demanding to appoint them as permanent teachers.
