Case filed against Rahul Mahara and other 4 people

Kathmandu: A case has been filed against former Speaker and CPN(Maoists) leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara's son Rahul and other 4 people in the vape gold scam case.
The Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor's office had filed a case against them for smuggling gold by hiding inside vapes (electronic cigarettes).
A case has been registered against Mahara, Lokendra Kumar Paudel, Tibetan origin Belgians Dawa Chiring, and Kathmandu's Nima Gurung. But Nima has escaped.
Central Investigation Bureau has suggested a compensation of Rs. 85.52 million (i.e. 8 crore 55lakh 28 thousand 374 rupees). 9 kg 11.524 grams of gold was smuggled from 730 vapes.
