UN General Assembly passes resolution of ceasefire in Gaza

Kathmandu: The United Nations General Assembly has passed a resolution on a ceasefire in Gaza.

The majority of the members voted in favor of the resolution on a ceasefire on Tuesday.

Out of 193 United Nations Members, 153 countries voted in favor, 10 voted out in opposition whereas 23 were absent at the general assembly.

According to the UN, Egypt's proposed draft includes an immediate humanitarian ceasefire between Hamas and Israel along with releasing hostages without any demands.

Middle Eastern countries voted in favor of the draft whereas the USA, Australia, Israel, Liberia, Guatemala, Czech Republic, Micronesia, Nauru, Paraguay, and Papua New Guinea voted against the ceasefire.

United Nations expressed its concerns over the intensified attack in Gaza by Israel.
