Hearing over Balkrishna Khand's case


Kathmandu: Hearing case of Former President Balkrishna Khand will take place today (Thursday) in the fake Bhutanese Refugee Scandal.
A hearing will be held on whether to keep Khand in prison or to release him. According to Patan High Court, the hearing would take place in the single bench of Judge Krishna Ram Koirala.
As, earlier there was a different opinion between judges Janak Panday and Prakash Kharel upon Khand whether to keep him in prison or to release him on bail.
Pandey opined to release Khand on bail of Rs. 3 million (30 lakh) and Kharel opined to keep Khand in prison. Due to the different opinions, it was decided to be sent to another Judge's bench. The case was placed in the single bench of Judge Panday for today.
Today's hearing would decide Khand's imprisonment, release on bail, or release him on a simple date.
The High Court decided to keep 9 accusers in prison, 6 to be released on bail, and 4 on a simple date at the ongoing fake Bhutanese refugee scandal on 1st December( Mangsir 15).
