State order and Good Governance Committee directs to bring Ncell under government ownership

Kathmandu: State order and Good Governance Committee has directed to amend the rules to bring Ncell under the ownership of government. The Parliamentary Committee directed to bring Ncell under the government's ownership in the next 6 years.

The meeting of the Committee directed the government to amend the Telecommunication Act and Regulations and even directed the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The Committee directed the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to amend the necessary laws and regulations to bring Ncell under the ownership of the government by 2086 B.S.

The committee called Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Minister of Information and Communication Rekha Sharma to discuss about Ncell share transaction on Tuesday.

Likewise, the committee directed not to implement and agree upon share transactions until the submission of the report by the Investigation Committee.
