Inquiry Committee reveals name of officials involved in Gold Smuggling


Kathmandu: The Inquiry Committee, which was formed to investigate the 14-kilo gold smuggling case, has submitted its report.
The Committee, led by Chief Customs Officer Mani Ram Paudel submitted the report to the Customs Office of the Tribhuvan International Airport.
According to the report, Min Bahadur Ghale used to contact Ankit Agrawal to smuggle gold to Nepal. Even Ghale used to smuggle gold to Nepal. The investigation revealed that Chandra Ghale and Krishna Kumar Shrestha used to smuggle gold from Dubai to Nepal in the absence of Min Bahadur.
Dan Bahadur (also known as D.B.) was found responsible for establishing a setting in the airport. There was also involvement of the airport officials and plumbers to pass the gold from the Airport gate.

A.C. Mechanic Radha Krishna Shrestha, Office Assistant Lek Bahadur Tamang, a retired official; who was recruited in contract again, Ramesh Deula, helper in the A.C. department Anil Shrestha and plumber Sher Bahadur Basnet of the Civil Aviation Office, Gaucharan were involved in the smuggling as per the conclusion of the committee.
After the clearance from the airport. the smuggled gold used to be delivered to the house of D.B. Gurung in Suryadarshan Height, Tokha.
