Purna Bahadur Khadka: Implement National Security Policy


Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has directed the bodies concerned to implement the activities under their respective responsibilities as National Security Policy is an important and sensitive issue related to Nepal's territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty, and safety of the people.
During the progress review of National Security Policy-2075 Implementation Integrated Action Plan, 2077 today, DPM Khadka suggested that all ministries, the Nepali Army, other security bodies, and stakeholders should fulfill their responsibilities by taking full ownership of it. He drew attention to identifying the problems seen in the implementation of the action plan and issues to be addressed within a week.
Similarly, National Security Advisor Shankar Das Bairagi pointed out the need to formulate and implement other policies of the government under this policy, as the National Security Policy strengthens the nation and the people.
Likewise, Chief of Army Staff, Prabhu Ram Sharma, emphasized the effective implementation of the policy in coordination and cooperation of all, as security policy is the issue of common responsibility of all ministries and bodies, not only of the Defense Ministry and Nepali Army.
Secretaries of different ministries, chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, among others were present in the meeting chaired by the acting Secretary of the Defense Ministry, Baburam Adhikari.
