Kathmandu: The Inquiry Committee has confirmed the involvement of former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara in the gold smuggling scandal.

According to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a report submitted by the commission, which was formed to investigate and control the illegal smuggling of gold, recommended the prosecution against Mahara.

The report found the involvement of Mahara in the smuggling of the gold through the electric cigarette vape. His son Rahul has already been arrested in the case.
