Mahara taken to Kathmandu District Court

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice Chairperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara has been taken to the Kathmandu District Court.

After completing the procedure of taking his statement at the Public Prosecutor's Office, Mahra was taken to the court for an extension of custody

Likewise, Mahara was arrested in a case of gold smuggling on Monday at Bhairahawa, brought to Kathmandu through Yeti Airlines.

Mahara, his son Rahul, Former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun’s son Deepesh Pun, and foreign expert Jeevan Gurung were allegedly involved in the smuggling of 61 kg of gold, which was being smuggled in a brake shoe on 18 July 2022( Sharwan 2, 2079) and 9 kg of gold in (Electronic cigarette) Vape.

Similarly, the Gold Smuggling Investigation Commission recommended action to be taken against 21 people including Mahara on Thursday. Since that day police kept tight surveillance upon 21 people.
