Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party Leader Khagraj Adhikari has submitted a claim to become the Chief Minister in Gandaki Province.

Adhikari submitted the claim with the support of CPN (Maoist Centre) and Independent lawmaker Rajeev Gurung (Deepak Manage). Even the vote of Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital has been counted.

But, there is no good result while incorporating the support of the Speaker. Previously, the same process was carried on during the formation of government in Koshi, but it was overturned by the Supreme Court.

Likewise, the same incident has been repeated in Gandaki. To form a new government in Gandaki province, there is a need for support from at least 31 members out of 60.

With support of 22 members from CPN(UML),8 from CPN(Maoist Centre), including the Speaker, and 1 from Manange, Adhikari completed the requirement of at least 31 votes.
