1000 people receives service from free eye camp


Kathmandu: As many as 1,000 people have benefitted from a free seven-day eye camp held at Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality in the district.
The camp was jointly organized by the rural municipality, Gorkha Lions Eye Service Centre, and Blind Association Rehabilitation Program Gorkha with technical support from Bharatpur Eye Hospital. Administrative Officer at Gorkha Lions Eye Service Centre. Bishwa Prakash Aryal said 1,058 people underwent eye check-ups and treatment in all the eight wards of the rural municipality.
Likewise, Aryal said that among those examined at the camp, patients diagnosed with cataracts were provided with free surgery services, 78 people who were diagnosed with cataracts at the camp were also provided free surgery services, and medicines were distributed to 917 people and free glasses to 78 people in the camp.
