Surendra Raj Pandey appointed as Gandaki CM

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Surendra Pandey has been appointed as the Chief Minister (CM) of the Gandaki Province.

Gandaki Province Chief Dilli Raj Bhatta appointed Pandey as the Chief Minister on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Supreme Court issued a mandate to appoint Pandey as the Chief Minister. Pandey filed a writ against CPN (UML) Parliamentary leader Khagaraj Adhikari, for being appointed as the Chief Minister even with a minority of votes.

The Supreme Court issued a mandate on Monday, to appoint Pandey as the CM within 48 hours.
