Kathmandu: The Members of Parliament (MP) have protested against the repression of the cooperative victims in Pokhara.

Nepal Majdoor Kisan party MP Prem Suwal said the criticization of the government, during a peaceful gathering across the globe, is a democratic and human right across the globe. He gave the opinion that everyone must follow the essence of the democracy.

'It was not the first incident in Nepal that the public, whose savings were in limbo in cooperative, showed a black flag to Prime Minister Dahal. There are numerous records of such incidents, ' said MP Suwal, 'Based on the incident, repressing and arresting the victims was violating the right, guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal, to hold peaceful assembly. This is reprehensible.'

Likewise, Rastriya Janamorcha Party's Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC said the behavior of the government was biased towards the victims and favorable towards the thief. He said, 'Baton was charged against the cooperative victims. Hundreds of Cooperative victims are in hospital, and hundreds of cooperatives are in a state of dilemma.'

Chairperson KC said the action over the cooperative victims was an injustice as it was the support of the people that placed one in power.

After raising black flags and shouting slogans, the police started repressing the cooperative victims. 78-year-old Bhimprasad Chapai and 30-year-old Anuradha Shrestha were injured in the action taken by the police. They were taken to the hospital.
