One dead, four turned ill due to wild mushroom consumption

Kathmandu: A person has died and four others were taken ill in Tanahun after consuming wild mushrooms.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the deceased has been identified as Dronapati Gurung (85 years old) of Aanbukhairani rural municipality-6. DSP Deepak Kumar Raya said that he fell severally ill after eating curry made of the toxic mushroom and thereafter succumbed to the illness.

Police said four others fallen sick after consuming poisonous mushrooms are free from danger.

They were Dil Bahadur Gurung (5$ years old), Madhu Gurung (57), Rana Bahadur Gurung (92), and Pamphi Gurung (58). They had consumed the wild mushroom found in the nearby forest on June 15.
