CIB arrest former DSP Krishna Prasad Sharma
CIB arrested Sharma after he was found taking money from the relatives of the arrested ones for their release.
Kathmandu: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested former DSP Krishna Prasad (KP) Sharma, in case of charging money to release those arrested in the gold smuggling case.
CIB arrested Sharma after he was found taking money from the relatives of the arrested ones for their release. Along with Sharma, a former employee of a bank, Jhawindra Khatri has also been arrested.
CIB is investigating the seizure of 60 kg and 16 grams that were passed through the airport last year. In the same case, it was found that Sharma and Khatri used to take money from the relatives of the arrested ones to settle the case.
Sharma and Khatri took 8.5 lakh rupees by saying that they would settle the case. CIB Spokesperson and SP Hobindra Bogati said that they arrested Sharma and Khatri based on the same information.
