Simaltal bus accident: Dead body, found in Narayani, identified

Police said the ATM card and the Indian Adhaar card, found in the body, helped to identify the body.

Kathmandu: The identity of the dead body, found while searching dead bodies of the passengers of two busses that were swept away by landslides into the Trishuli River on Friday morning at Simaltal, has been ascertained.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the dead body of a man, around 30-35 years old, was floating in the bank of the river. The man has been identified as the Rishipal Sah. Police said the ATM card and the Indian Adhaar card, found in the body, helped to identify the body.

But, the police said that the procedure to identify whether Sah was one of the passengers traveling in the buses, that plunged into Trishuli River on Friday, is yet to be confirmed.

Two passenger buses including one heading to Gaur from Kathmandu (03-001 Kha. 2495) and another going to Kathmandu from Birgunj (03-006 Kha. 1516) were swept away by landslides into the Trishuli River on Friday morning at Simaltal, falling under Bharatpur metropolis-29.
