Top Democrats support Harris after Biden quits race of presidential candidate

Kathmandu: Senior Democrats have been supporting Kamala Harris for the party's presidential candidate after U.S. President Joe Biden quit the race.

According to the BBC, Harris's supporters include Pete Buttigieg and Gavin Newsom, who themselves were touted as possible nominees.

81-year-old President  Biden faced increasing calls to step aside since last month's TV debate against Donald Trump. He endorsed Harris, who says she intends to "earn and win" the nomination.
