Kathmandu: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned just after leaving the country. Hasina left the country along with her sister.
According to the BBC, PM Hasina's helicopter is flying towards the Agartala in India. Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqer Uz-Zaman will be addressing the people at 4:30 pm on the ongoing situation in the country. Army Chief Waqar Uz-Zaman is currently meeting with dignitaries.
Lakhs of people came down to the streets of the capital to make the 'Long March to Dhaka' successful on Monday (August 5) called by the anti-discrimination student movement to demand the fall of the government. Many are shouting slogans with flags in their hands.
According to the Dhaka Tribune, six have been killed in the protest. Prothomalo said three have been shot dead in the violent protest.
On Sunday, at least 90 people were killed and hundreds more injured in clashes between police and tens of thousands of anti-government protesters in Bangladesh.
