Kathmandu: The parliament of Bangladesh has been dissolved.
According to the BBC, the president's office confirmed the dissolution of the parliament by issuing a statement. It was a key demand made by student protest coordinators. They had set a deadline of 15:00 local time (09:00 GMT).
Student protesters said they would not accept a military-led government. The leaders said Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus has agreed to be the interim government's chief adviser.
