Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that the Air Dynasty Helicopter met with an accident after it entered the cloud.

Speaking about the crash incident at the International Relations and Tourism Committee meeting on Thursday, Director General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari commented on the accident. He said that the helicopter crashed after it didn't follow the visual flight route of civil aviation and entered the clouds.

‘We visited the crash site with the honorable minister, and secretary this morning. The inquiry commission will share the root cause of the crash. The bad weather, entering the clouds, and turning left while returning appears like the cause behind the crash,’ said Adhikari.

He further said, ‘Piloting command prohibits entering the cloud or entering less visible areas. Without following the Civil Aviation Visual Flight Route. The law prohibits such actions. According to our investigation, the violation of VFR  is the root cause of the accident.’

Likewise, Adhikari said the inquiry committee, formed by the government, will provide further details.
