TRC Bill approved from Law Committee
The committee meeting, held at Singha durbar on Thursday, passed the bill to amend the Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation, 2071 (2014).


Kathmandu: The Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee, under the House of Representatives (HoR), has approved the bill related to transitional justice.
The committee meeting, held at Singha durbar on Thursday, passed the bill to amend the Commission on Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation, 2071 (2014). The political parties formed a task force to settle the disputes over the bill.
The bill has moved forward with the agreement on the disputed issues after 18 years.
Likewise, the Chairperson of the committee Bimala Subedi said the draft was passed in the same manner just like it was proposed. She said the approved bill will be presented in the next meeting of the parliament.
Minister of Law Ajaya Chaurasiya said the agreement between the parties is significant on various issues such as giving justice to the victims of human rights and punishing the wrong doers.
