Elephant calf found dead

Kathmandu: An elephant calf was found dead at Belbari-3 of Morang district.

Chairperson of Belbari municipaliy-3, Yogendra Prasad Subedi said the around 4-year-old calf was found dead in the private forest of a local Anita Thapa and Rekha Thapa on Tuesday.

Acting Chief of Division Forest Office, Hemant Parajuli said a team from the Sub-Division Forest Office, Belbari, the Area Police Office, Belbari, and the Armed Police Force, Basecamp, Laxmimarg, reached the incident site and started collecting details.

Acting Chief Parajuli said the reason behind the death of the calf is still unknown.
