'Dhime' Dance at Basantapur (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The Indra Jatra Festival has officially begun, after erecting Indra Dhwaj.

On the first day of Indra Jatra, the Newar community performed the Dhime Dance on the premises of Shiva-Parvati Temple, Basantapur on Sunday.

Dhime is an original dance of the Newar Community, which is performed on traditional Newari musical instruments.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol inaugurated the Dhime Dance Program.
