Pathibhara cable car conflict: 15 arrested for throwing burning torches in house of public
The situation became tense after protesters, against the construction of the cable car in the Pathibhara area, threw torches into some houses.


Kathmandu: Fifteen people, who were protesting against the construction of the cable car in the Pathibhara area of Taplejung, have been arrested.
Sandipa Khadka, Assistant Chief District Officer of Taplejung, informed Nepal Views that they were arrested on charges of throwing burning torches into the houses of the general public in the district headquarters, Phungling,
The situation became tense after protesters, who held a torch rally on Sunday night, threw torches into some houses.

Following this, the administration has imposed a curfew in Phungling. The curfew has been imposed from 5 AM today (Sunday) until further notice.
In a press release, Taplejung's Chief District Officer, Netra Prasad Sharma, stated that the curfew was imposed due to the potential risk of disturbances and rallies that could affect peace and security in the Phungling Municipality market area.
