Agricultural inputs given to 750 farmers


Kathmandu: The Pauwadung Rural Municipality in Bhojpur district has distributed agricultural input devices to 750 farmers in its attempt to make the rural municipality self-reliant on agriculture.
Chief Administrative Officer of Pauwadung Rural Municipality, Nabin Bhattarai, said the rural municipality distributed the devices worth Rs 5.1 million to farmers and provided the inputs based on their demand.
It is said that the devices were provided with 50% subsidy. Chief Administrative Officer Bhattarai stated that mulching plastic, plastic tunnels, power tillers, plastic ponds, pesticide spray tools were handed over to the farmers.
He said that the rural municipality is planning to distribute agricultural goods worth Rs 7 million. Vice Chairperson of Pauwadung Rural Municipality, Jyotsna Rai, said that a massive investment is made in agriculture for economic sufficiency by producing commercial farmers.
'We have been encouraging farmers to be business-oriented. We extended supports to the farers based on their demands,' said Rai.
