Kathmandu: Around 18 people have been killed in South Korea’s wildfire.

According to the Ministry of Interior and Safety, 18 people have been injured due to the uncontrolled wildfire in the southeast region.

The BBC citied the Acting President Han Ducksoo as saying the fires are ‘rewriting the record books for the worst wildfires in our nation’s history.’

Likewise, more than 23000 people were rescued, but several cultural heritage sites were affected, including 1300 year 1,300-year-old Buddhist temple.

A fire fighting helicopter also crashed in the mountains of Uiseong county on Wednesday as per investigation authorities.

Similarly, thousands of firefighters and around 5000 military personnel were deployed to contain multiple blazes.
