One dies in forest fire

Kathmandu: A person died in a fire that occurred in a community forest at Bhimphedi rural municipality-1, Makwanpur district on Thursday.

According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the victim was Akil Bahadur Pakhrin (49 years old).

Pakhrin had gone to take care of cowshed near the Bokedaha community forest. While going to the cowshed, he, accidently, fell off a cliff, reaching the community forest that was in fire. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shyamu Aryal said he was found burnt to death in the forest.

The lifeless body was taken to Hetauda Hospital for a postmortem and investigation into the incident was underway, the police added.
