Kathmandu: People are celebrating the 2,569th Buddha Jayanti.
Along with Buddha Jayanti, a special program marking Lumbini Day has also been organized at Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has also participated in the program.
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the lunar month of Baishakh Shukla Purnima.
