Madhav Kumar Nepal suspended from lawmaker post

Kathmandu: The CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has been suspended from the position of Member of Parliament (MP).

Nepal was suspended from his lawmaker post after a corruption case was filed against him. A corruption case was filed against Nepal at the Special Court, Kathmandu, on Thursday.  Nepal was elected as an MP from Rautahat in the 2079 Bikram Sambat (B.S.) election.

According to the Corruption Act 2059, there is a provision that Nepal’s position as a lawmaker will be automatically suspended once a case is filed on a corruption charge.
