Kathmandu: The drama Far Away is currently being staged at Mandala Theatre, Thapagaun.
Presented by One World Theatre, Far Away is written by British playwright Caryl Churchill. It is a short but powerful emotional drama that explores fear, control, and love in a deep and unsettling way.
Directed by Raj Kumar Pudasaini, the play begins with a young girl’s perspective and shows how violence becomes normalised in the state as she grows up.

The use of lighting, dialogue delivery, and silence makes Far Away an uncomfortable yet deeply moving drama.
The cast includes Rishu Raut, Ruja Raut, and Anish Bimli. The drama is performed daily at 5:30 p.m. and will run until Shrawan 2, 2082 (August 10, 2025).
