Kathmandu: The second school-level drama festival kicked off on Monday, inaugurated by theatre artist and actor Bijay Baral.

The plays are being staged at Studio Theatre Nepal in Pingalasthan, Kathmandu. A total of 17 plays from 17 private schools across the Kathmandu Valley are performed.
The dramas are directed by active theatre artists who have been associated with the school for a long time, including Ram Babu Regmi, Dipa Basnet, Prabhakar Neupane, Ram K.A.C., Manju Giri, Pupshparaj Awasthi, Pratik Dulal, Suraj Tamu, Sagar Kanchho, Shiva Ram Aryal, Nirmal Saud, Bansari Pandey, Prakash Dahal, and Tanka Chaulagain.
On the first day of the festival, Valley View School's "Ichhya versus Samaya" (directed by Ram Babu Regmi), Gladstone Academy's "Gita" (directed by Prabhakar Neupane), and Aakash Ganga International Academy's "Baimani Kal" (directed by Sagar Kanchho) were staged.
Last year, the school also organized an International Children's Theatre Festival, where plays from 12 countries were staged at Akshara's "Abhi Theatre."
