Constitution Day celebration at Tundikhel (Photos)

Kathmandu: A special program was organized at Tundikhel, Kathmandu, on Friday to mark Constitution Day and National Day.

The event was observed in the presence of President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav, Interim Government head Sushila Karki, and other dignitaries.

Baburam Bhattarai was the only former prime minister to attend the ceremony.

CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal — all former prime ministers — did not attend the program.

Constitution Day commemorates 3 Ashwin 2072 BS, when then-President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav formally announced the promulgation of the Constitution drafted by the Constituent Assembly.
