Chhath festival concludes with devotees offering Argha to the rising Sun (Photos)

Kathmandu: The Chhath festival concluded on Tuesday, with devotees offering Argha to the rising Sun.
The festival traditionally ends with a ritual in which Argha — made of cow’s milk, flowers, and water — is offered to the Sun at riverbanks. During Surya Udhya Kal, the time of sunrise, devotees offer Argha and worship the Sun to conclude Chhath.
Devotees also take a dip in water while paying homage to the Sun.
Rivers, considered as mother, and the Sun, regarded as the god of energy and life force, are worshipped during Chhath to promote well-being, prosperity, and progress.
According to tradition, devotees also offer Argha and perform puja to the setting Sun from the riverbank in the evening. It is believed that worshipping the Sun during Kartik Shukla Paksha helps fulfil one’s wishes.
Chhath Ghats were constructed at Guhyeshwari, Kamal Pokhari, Thapathali, and other locations on Monday to mark the occasion.
