NPL Season 2: Four days to go

Kathmandu: Just four days remain before the start of one of Nepal’s biggest cricket leagues, the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2.
Eight teams — Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gorkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, and Lumbini Lions — will clash for the coveted trophy.
The previous season was a massive hit, thanks to overwhelming fan support. Some spectators who couldn’t get tickets even climbed trees to watch the matches! This incredible enthusiasm drew global attention. The participation of renowned international cricketers like Martin Guptill, James Neesham, Shikhar Dhawan, and others also highlighted Nepal’s growth as an emerging cricket nation.
This year’s edition promises even more excitement, featuring international stars such as Australia’s Sam Heazlett and D’Arcy Short, and South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and Imran Tahir, who will represent their respective teams. Fans are eager to see these players live, not just on TV. For the first time in NPL history, matches will also be played under floodlights, adding extra thrill to the league.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) unveiled the season 2 fixture on November 10, 2025 (Kartik 24). The opening match will take place on November 17 (Mangsir 1), featuring defending champions Janakpur Bolts against Kathmandu Gorkhas, and will be broadcast live on Star Sports.
Among the eight teams, which squad will lift the NPL Season 2 trophy this year? Fans are eagerly waiting to find out.
