India announces squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026; Ishan Kishan makes comeback


Kathmandu: India has announced their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
According to the team released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Suryakumar Yadav has been named captain, with Axar Patel appointed vice-captain. The selection committee dropped Subhman Gill from the squad.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, who had been out of the national side for a long time, has also made a comeback for the World Cup.
The announced squad features a balanced mix of experienced and young players. Alongside captain Suryakumar Yadav, seasoned players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy have been included.
In the batting department, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube have been named. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are the designated wicketkeepers in the squad.
The bowling attack includes Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar, and Bumrah.
The same squad will also play T20I series against New Zealand.
