Kathmandu:  The writer of Bollywood movie Adipurush received death threats, prompting Mumbai police to provide him security.

Mumbai Police took swift action on Monday as they provided security to Manoj Muntashir after he received death threats. Muntashir is the diologue writer of Adipurush, a Ramayan-based bollywood movie which stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon.

Muntashir on Monday approached Mumbai Police claiming that he had received a death threat from someone who could have been aggrieved by the dialogues he had penned for Adipurush. He also met the deputy commissioner of police for zone 9, Krishnakant Updhayay, and requested him for police protection.

The movie has drawn controversy leading to protests, burning of effigies of Muntsashir and demand for a ban on the film within three days.

In a conversation with ANI, Muntashir shared the intention behind Adipurush, aiming to showcase the true heroes of Sanatan to the younger generation.

'Our aim was to present the true heroes of Sanatan to our younger generation,' he said, 'There is an objection to 5 dialogues and they will be changed. If people are not liking some parts, than it's our responsibility to fix them.'
