Lamichhane demands special committee on fake Bhutanese refugee scam

Kathmandu: President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and parliamentary party leader Rabi Lamichhane has said peoples' concerns were shadowed.
The government has ignored significant issues of the country in the appropriation bill. He blamed the government that it was focused more on its existence rather than adequate attention to an important agenda before the country while addressing the discussion in the House of Representatives on budget allocation to different ministries today.
He demanded a special committee to study fake Bhutanese refugee scams. President Lamichhane also demanded pesticide tests of vegetables.
Underscoring the need for amending the budget, President Lamichhane drew the attention of Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha to curb black marketing and smuggling on the border.
Similarly, he suggested the government that made a provision for police constables and head constables to opt for voluntary retirement in 16 years of service while junior officers in 18 and senior officers in 20. The pension system should be made effective only after 20 years of service, he recommended.
