Coalition to present claim with resignation of Speaker Gautam

Kathmandu: Today is the last day of presenting the claim of the Koshi Provincial government along with the majority.

Province Head Parshuram Khapung had given time for the claim till 5 pm today, as per the direction of the Supreme Court.

The coalition has decided to make Province Speaker Baburam Gautam resign to present the claim with the majority. The coalition has been expecting Uddhav Thapa as the Chief Minister again.

After the resignation of Speaker Gautam, the coalition would have 47 seats. That will be a majority. But, even CPN (UML) is preparing to make Deputy Speaker Srijana Danuwar resign. This seems to create another problem during the vote of confidence phase.

A government was formed under the leadership of Thapa on July 16 (Asar 31). But Supreme Court has canceled the appointment of Thapa as Speaker Gautam was part of the procedure.
