Industry registration fees increase in Karnali

Kathmandu: The Karnali Province government has brought a policy of industrial tax discount targeting women, dalits, people with disabilities and backward communities to promote their participation in enterprises.

According to the latest Industry Regulations issued by the Karnali provincial government, eligible groups will be entitled to receive discounts of up to 50 percent when registering or renewing their industries.

However, the provincial government has hiked the industry registration and renewal charges based on capital investment. Industries are categorized into five groups based on their capital investment, and the registration fees vary accordingly.

The industries are categorized as those having a capital of up to 500 thousand, industries with a capital of up to one million, industries with up to two million, up to five million, and industries having capital above five million. The registration charge for these industries ranges from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 30,000.
