Supreme Court refuses to grant interim order in writ of 5 police officer


Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has demanded a written response from the opposition on the petition filed by 5 police officers seeking an interim order not to send them on retirement as per the age limit.
The single bench of Judge Saranga Subedi ordered that both parties be called for a discussion on an interim order. The writ petitioner refused to grant an interim order requested by the police officer and demanded a written reply from the respondent.
Likewise, AIG Shyam Lal Gaywali, DIGs Yagya Binod Pokharel, Kedar Dhakal, Rajeshnath Bastola and Inspector Nagendra Thakur filed the writ petition at the Supreme Court on Wednesday, demanding not to implement retirement on age according to the ranks.
They are going on compulsory retirement, due to their age limit as per the posts, however, they filed a writ saying that a 30-year service limit should not be maintained.
