Kathmandu: The major opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that all the preparations for arresting former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister and Rabi Lamichhane were completed but the court's verdict stopped it.

Speaking at the meeting with the editors on Wednesday, Prachanda said the government backed off from arresting Home Minister Lamichhane as the Kaski Court did not find any reason to arrest him.

Prachanda said, 'The government had completed all the preparations to arrest Mr. Rabi. But, the Kaski District Court did not any problem find. And I got the information that the arrest procedure was stopped.'

Similarly, Prachanda said there is no big role of Lamichhane in the cooperative scandal. He said that he gave his public opinion after no government authorities found the involvement of Rabi in the cooperative case; despite of in-depth investigation.

The former Prime Minister claimed the report of the parliamentary investigation committee also showed a bit of political influence. However, he said he would not obstruct the implementation of the report.

Likewise, Prachandas said the rise of Balendra 'Balen' Shah, Rabi Lamichhane, and Harka Sampang must be taken as the expression of the weakness of the old parties.
