CPN(UML) office’s land dispute: Supreme Court issues short term interim order


Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has issued short-term interim order in the land donation case, which was given by Bhat Bhateni Managing Director Min Bahadur Gurung for the construction of the CPN(UML) party office.
Under the single bench of Judge Sunil Kumar Pokharel on Monday, the short term interim order was issued. The court called both sides for the discussion. The writ filed by Advocate Dr Gyan Bahadur Basnet was registered by the Supreme Court on last Wednesday.
Advocate Basnet made Gurung and CPN(UML) Office opposition to the writ. He insisted that the matter of receiving the land in donation from the businessperson, who is accused of corruption and personalization of government land, is against the spirit of the law.
Gurung announced to giving of 10 ropani and 14 annas to CPN(UML) on October 11 (Asoj 25) for the construction of the party central office in Kritipur-2, Maitrinagar Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and the Gurung couple laid the foundation stone of the building together.
