Morang: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda," has said there are no constitutional, legal, or international barriers preventing former presidents or vice presidents from joining politics.

Speaking to journalists at the Biratnagar Airport on Sunday, Prachanda said, 'Neither the constitution, nor the law, nor international norms prohibit them. If they wish to enter politics, nothing is stopping them from doing so.'

Chairperson Dahal said that former Vice President Nanda Kishor Pun was given a role after expressing his desire to serve as a “foot soldier” of the party. Pun is currently the Vice Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre).

Prachanda added that the involvement of former presidents or vice presidents in politics would not make any difference. He also said there is no disagreement among the three major parties when it comes to protecting the republic.
