No increment in salary of government employees, Rs 5000 as cost-of-living allowance

Kathmandu: The government has decided not to increase the salary of government employees.

Presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said that although there was a need to adjust employees' salaries, they could not be increased due to a lack of resources.

The Finance Minister said even though the salaries were not increased, a cost-of-living allowance of 5,000 will be provided.

Although there was talk of increasing the salaries of government employees in the upcoming fiscal year's budget, the salaries have not been raised.
