Curfew and prohibitory order lifted in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has lifted the curfew and prohibitory orders that had been imposed across the district.
Issuing a notice on Saturday, the administration stated that although the curfew and prohibitory orders have been lifted, the orders concerning restricted areas remain in effect.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer and spokesperson Mukti Ram Rijal, the orders issued by Chief District Officer Chhabi Rijal on September 11 (Bhadra 26), regarding designated restricted areas in various locations, will continue to remain in force.
After Nepal’s youth-led protests launched on Monday (September 8) against misgovernance and corruption turned violent on Tuesday (September 9), the Nepal Army had stepped in from Tuesday night to maintain security and law of order, and subsequently prohibitory orders and a curfew were imposed.
