Fulpati in Hanumandhoka's Dashain Ghar (Photo Feature)


Kathmandu: Fulpati has been brought in Dashain Ghar of Hanumandhoka Durbar.
There is a ritual of bringing Fulpati from Gorkha to Dashain Ghar on the day of Saptami. Every year, 6 priests of the Magar community, including the priest of Dashain Ghar, bring the Fulpati from Gorkha to Jiwanpur, Dhading. And 6 priests from the Brahmin community, from Kathmandu, bring the Fulpati from Jiwanpur to Jamal.
There is a ritual of high-ranking civil service offices, platoons of Guruju, musicians, and cultural dancers bringing the Fulpati from Jamal to Hanumandhoka with a huge celebration.
Sugarcane stem, turmeric, banana stalk, plant of paddy, Belpatra, Ashok flower taken as auspicious symbols and brought in the form of Fulpati. It also known as Nawapatrika, is taken as a symbol of the Nine Goddesses.
