USA defeated Nepal by 106 runs

Kathmandu: Nepal faced a defeat of 106 runs against the USA in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday

Nepal was all out for 156 runs in 39.1 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 40 runs, followed by Aasif Sheikh with 37, Bhim Sarki with 29, Aarif Sheikh with 20, and Sompal Kami with 11.

For the US, Harmeet Singh took six wickets, while Shubham Ranjane took two, and Rushil Ugarkar took one wicket.

Earlier, the United States posted 262 for six in their allotted 20 overs, setting a 263-run target for Nepal.

Smit Patel anchored the innings with a well-paced 75 off 100 balls, striking nine boundaries. Milind Kumar provided solid support, remaining unbeaten on 70 off 50 deliveries, which included six fours and two sixes.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, and Dipendra Singh Airee chipped in with one each.

Earlier, Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel won the toss and opted to field first.

With this victory, the US moved to the top of the points table with 30 points from 21 matches, while Nepal remained in seventh place with 12 points from 17 games.
