Nepal clinches historic T20I Series against West Indies

Kathmandu. By defeating the West Indies in consecutive matches, Nepal has clinched the Unity Cup T20I series in the UAE with one game remaining.

Nepal thrashed the West Indies by a wide margin of 90 runs. Chasing Nepal’s target of 174 runs, the West Indies were bowled out for just 83 runs in 17.1 overs.

For the West Indies, Jason Holder top-scored with 21 runs. The team never managed to gain control of the game.

Nepal’s Adil Alam shone with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Kushal Bhurtel picked up 3 wickets, while Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Nepal scored 173 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

For Nepal, openers Aasif Sheikh and Sandeep Jora played half-century innings. Aasif remained unbeaten on 68 runs off 47 balls, while Jora struck 63 runs off 39 balls.

For the West Indies, captain Akeal Hosein bowled 4 overs for 21 runs, taking 2 wickets. Kyle Mayers also took 2 wickets, conceding 26 runs in 2 overs, while Jediah Blades picked up one wicket.

Earlier, Nepal had registered a historic victory by defeating the West Indies in the first match. With this win, Nepal has now sealed a historic series victory against a Test-playing nation.
